Synopsis[]
As Luther's affection for Jenny grows, so does his determination to protect her and help her back on her feet. Baba, however, is determined to keep Luther on a tight leash. To add to Luther's difficulties, he is called in to investigate a man whose brutal and escalating murders seem to have no motive, leaving Jenny alone and vulnerable.
Plot[]
Luther leaves Jenny in his flat to investigate an incident at a service station where a man with a baseball bat kills one motorist, maims another, and destroys their cars. From CCTV footage, it appears that the suspect was rolling the dice to select victims. The suspect follows a motorcycle courier into a building, stabs three people and steals the courier's helmet, uniform, and motorcycle. The suspect later goes into the courier's next delivery location and kills 5 people before getting arrested by Luther. In custody, the man refuses to speak, leaving his identity unknown. As Luther returns home, he finds that Jenny has killed Toby Kent after his attempted rape. The suspect's exact double prepares another outrage at a train station.
