Michael Eppley is a fictional character featured in Luther.
Background[]
Michael, referred to as Mike, was a police officer in the Metropolitan Police Service. He held the rank of police constable. He and his partner, PC Steve Gorman, operated under the callsign Sierra-Lima 219. Before working as a police officer, Mike was a soldier.
Appearances[]
Mike appears during the opening scene of S01E02, in which he and Steve respond to a call of a reported shooting. They arrive at the scene and find a man who appears to have been shot multiple times. The man is, in fact, Owen Lynch, a soldier who has recently returned home from serving in Afghanistan. Owen is unharmed and the whole situation is a trap. He opens fire on the officers, killing them both. Owen then swaps Mike's police radio for a duplicate, allowing him to listen in on police chatter.
