Derek Standish is a character of the 2023 crime thriller Luther: The Fallen Sun.
He is blackmailed by David Robey to assist him with his many crimes
Biography[]
One day Derek answers the door of his business to former DCI John Luther,The two of them introduced themselves to each other.Luther then asks Derek does he really know who is,Standish says he doesn’t know.
Luther then asks why did he send him a recording of a murder,Upon hearing this Derek run off though the building into a tattoo shop he attempts to escape via a door but Luther is able to capture him.Luther then throws him onto a chair and asks him where the Radio is,Derek says it’s in a cupboard.
Luther gets it out and question Derek over it,Luther threatens him and attempts to tattoo his eyeball but stops himself realising that Standish doesn’t know anything.He questions Derek why he has a recording of Callum Aldrich being tortured,Derek says he was manipulated by someone,Who was able to blackmail him.
Luther asks Derek to help him catch a serial killer however Derek refuses but Luther is able to convince him,Standish gives Luther a phone with the number of the man who is blackmailing him.Luther then leaves before an armed police unit with DS Woodward arrive to arrest him.Presumably Standish is taken into police custody due him assisting a serial killer.
