The chase in the Artic occurred when serial killer David Robey attempted to escape from Luther.
Background[]
Following a confrontation at his lair,Robey escapes throw the tunnels with Luther in pursuit.Whilst in pursuit Luther comes across several of Robey kidnapped victims in a prison cell,They shout at him alerting Robey where he is.Robey reaches the outside of his lair and gets in his jeep with Luther reaching the outside door and seeing him.
Chase[]
Robey starts up the jeep and prepares to leave the scene however Luther runs up to the jeep and smashes the back window with a pole,Luther then climbs into the jeep and begins to attack Robey.Luther attempts to reach the phone which as controls to free Anya and Odette who are both still in Robey’s lair.Luther continues to fight Robey in the jeep and eventually the jeep crashes into a frozen lake where Robey stores his victims bodies.
Both men and the jeep slowly descend into the frozen waters,Robey attempts to escape from the jeep but Luther pulls him back into the vehicle.Eventually the jeep reaches the bottom of the lake,Robey is able to escape but is unable to find a way out of the lake and drowns in the frozen waters,Right next to several of his victims bodies.Luther is able to access the phone and free Odette and Anya,Luther is able to hold his breath long enough to be rescued by two divers.
Aftermath[]
A few hours later the Norwegian authorities arrive along side Schenk,Luther is seen to by paramedics.Luther and Schenk reunite,The police rescue all of Robey’s kidnapped victims and recover the bodies of any others.Odette then approaches Luther and has him arrested,Luther is then put into an air ambulance and taken to London.
Sometime later Luther wakes up in a government safe house and is greeted by Schenk.Luther looks out the window and spots several vehicles approaching,Luther asks who they are and Schenk replies his doesn’t know but he thinks Luther isn’t going back to prison.Luther and Schenk approach the convoy and a man gets out and asks Luther to get in the car because the chief would like a word.
